Mykonos

Opa!

We are just returning from two weeks in Europe, and since it will probably take me the rest of the summer to document our trip (and I will be on airplanes for fourteen hours before reuniting with our boys), I’ll start out with one of my favorite places we visited.

When I imagined going to Greece, I pictured hundreds of white houses and churches overlooking the ocean.

The Greek island of Mykonos was a perfect depiction of what I visualized.

We took our time walking up and down the narrow streets, admiring the small churches and colorful marketplace.

We also hiked up to the windmills dating back to the 16th century.

This trip was, in part, to celebrate my father-in-law’s 60th birthday. And his summer break from teaching in Hawaii.

One last view as we left the island.

We watched the sunset from afar.

Mykonos looked just as breathtaking at night.
