My one regret this summer was not getting out on the boat more. The last two summers passed us by with a mere handful of trips to the lake. Other things kept popping up; trips and weddings and other commitments, and then on the days we did plan to go, we woke up to rain or the boat needing to be repaired.
We kept rescheduling a boating trip with friends all summer long until we finally made it happen on Labor Day.
The clouds were threatening rain once again and the water was freezing, but we were bound and determined to take advantage of our last shot.
Boating one last time was the perfect way to wrap up the summer and celebrate my advancement in age.
